The World on my Plate!

Indians are good foodies and know how to enjoy eating food. Indians are not only experts when it comes to their own cuisine but they have also embraced delicacies from all over the world - Chinese, Thai, Mediterranean, Italian and many more. Many restaurants from India have earned national and even global fame for their innovative method of serving and delicious dishes. Whenever I visit new places abroad, I make sure that I try out atleast one restaurant which serves delicious local cuisine and atleast one Indian restaurant  that is locally based there.

Here are some handpicked restaurants from my trips (both Indian and non-Indian):

Restaurant Name: Roppongi Fukuzushi
Cusine (Served/famous for): Japanese
Address: 5-7-8 Roppongi, Minato, Tokyo Prefecture, Tokyo 106-0032, Japan
Must try dish: Sushi
Restaurant website: http://www.roppongifukuzushi.com/e_top/e_top.html

I have been here on may occasions and would have to say that this is my favorite sushi restaurant in the world. If you go to Fukuzushi, please try and sit around the side tables. It is really fun to watch the chefs at work. You don't need a menu. Just ask the chefs what they recommend if you don't have something specific in mind. They don't all speak english but they can all make do if you don't speak Japanese.

Dhaba India is one of the rare Indian restaurants in Tokyo which serves exclusive South India food. Their Idli, Vada, and Dosa range will make you fall in love with the South Indian flovour. Apart from South India dishes, they offer a good menu of North Indian Dishes too.Nice theme, lighting and interiors. Dhaba India will surely make you a frequent visitor if you are living anywhere near Tokyo.

Shahi Maharani serves Mughal cuisine, specifically the dishes that were cooked for the royals. Tikkas, Kebabs, tandoori chicken, koftas, briyanis and many more of authentic Mughal dishes are served here. The prawn briyani was one of the best I ever had. The malai koftas were awesome too. Special mention goes to the pistachio ice cream with peanut caramel brittles quite an unique dish that would please any palette. Overall, it's an excellent place that serves fantastic Mughal cuisine but the price is on little steep side.

abajour
Ambience is great. Service is prompt and friendly, and the menu offers the standard dishes as well as a few more adventurous options and a range of delicious creative shakes (all at a very reasonable price). Certainly worth the trip, Abajour is a true taste of Syria right here in Dubai.
