“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” - St. Augustine
A lot of people are captivated with the idea of travelling (specially leisurely travelling) — getting away, doing something fun, seeing new things, and meeting different people. But when it comes to actually planning a real trip (something more than visiting our relatives), it’s too easy to find a reason not to go, not to make it happen.
Our lives have become so busy and complicated. Between our jobs,
commitments, responsibilities (yes…the list is endless!), taking time
out for a trip (or even doing everything that must be done to prepare
for one) is enough to make anyone hyperventilate with anxiety. It feels
like too much work to get a trip started. I think that’s why many of us
spend so much time dreaming about traveling rather than actually doing
it. But, according to me traveling is one of the most life-affirming
things that can be undertaken. I feel that traveling can turn out to be a
welcome transformation on so many levels. It provides happiness and
satisfaction long after the trip is over.
So, by now you would have guessed that my passion is travelling. Since
my childhood, I have always been passionate about travelling and
exploring new places. As a child, I would always urge my parents to take
me to new places and they never said ‘no’. There are various reasons as
to why I am passionate about travelling. Travelling:
- keeps me engaged,
- allows me to appreciate different cultures and lifestyles,
- allows me to try out the local cuisine of the place(s) that I visit
- helps me meet new and interesting people,
- allows me to share my experiences with people I care about,
- helps me take a break from the everyday stresses and demands of life by doing something entirely new and different.
I like travelling with friends, family or alone. Before any trip, I
always plan properly, taking into consideration factors like budget,
stay, weather, mode of travel, etc. I have travelled with my family and
friends to different places in India like Goa, Jaipur, Udaipur,
Bangalore, Delhi, etc. All these trips have given me an opportunity to
enjoy different flavors of our country. I have also traveled abroad to
some popular countries like Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Maldives, and
United Arab Emirates. I have been fortunate enough to have gotten a
chance to stay in Japan for a couple of years.
In the coming few years, I have plans of travelling to Australia,
Malaysia, Indonesia, Mauritius and some popular European countries like
Switzerland, Italy and France. The list of places that I want to travel
to is long and the money required is a lot as well. But, given my
passion for travelling and exploring new places, I am sure I will cover
the above mentioned places in the coming few years, no matter what!
Here are some videos that will surely get you travelogged!
